Land Clearing Scope Checklist
A one-page printable for lining up two or three clearing quotes side by side, so each one says what you are actually paying for.
What the checklist covers
- Limits: the area to be cleared, marked on a plan or on the ground, and what is outside it.
- Trees to keep: which ones, how they are marked, and where protection fencing goes.
- Method and finish: mulched, cut and hauled, or grubbed, and what the ground looks like when the work is done.
- Stumps and roots: ground, pulled, or left, and where.
- Debris: mulched in place, chipped, hauled to a named facility, or burned where the rules allow, and who pays disposal.
- Erosion control: silt fence, seeding or mulch cover, and the stormwater permit if an acre or more is disturbed.
- Permits and rules: tree permit and mitigation, burn permit or ban, floodplain approval, and who applies.
- Utilities: locate requests before stumps are pulled, and overhead lines kept clear.
- Price basis and minimums: per acre, per hour or per job, equipment transport, and what changes the price.
For the reasons behind each line, read what a land clearing quote should include and the guide to clearing land in North Texas.
